About us

Who are we?

We are Markus and Gemma. An Austrian and a Catalan who love travelling, meet people and new cultures.

We decided to take our backpacks and go for a walk around the world, visiting some of our friends that live in other countries.

We would like to be in touch with our family and friends and share our new adventure through this
blog. We want to tell you about our new experiences.

Jean Passepartout

Jean Passepartout is one of the fiction characters in the Jules Verne's novel Around the World in Eighty Days. Passepartout is a cheerful, clever and affectionate person.

In the novel, Passepartout is the French valet of Phileas Fogg, a rich, calculator, predictable and reserved English gentleman with regular habits.

Fogg makes a bet with his friends at the London Reform Club that he can circumnavigate the world in no more than eighty days and Passepartout is obliged to accompany him .

So, we have been attracted and identified for his character, for the opportunity to travel around the world and for its few economical resources.

We loved also the literal translation of Passepartout, which means "goes everywhere" in English.

Passepartout

Passe-partout is the French word for a paper or a cardboard sheet with a cut out, which goes between the picture and the frame.

This logbook wants also to be the passe-partout for our pictures to show you all of them. For this reason, we hope you enjoy looking at them as we enjoy taking them.
